Responsibilities:

In the provinces of Istanbul, Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Çanakkale, Kocaeli, Yalova, Sakarya, Bilecik, Bursa, Balıkesir, Amasya, Artvin, Bartın, Bayburt, Bolu, Çorum, Düzce, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Karabük, Kastamonu, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Sinop, Tokat, Trabzon, and Zonguldak:

1. Define procedures and principles that will ensure coordinated work among theories and professional disciplines for the relationship between hazard and risk concepts in settlement, site selection, and land use decisions in urban and rural areas. Ensure that risk identification processes are adequately and effectively implemented.

2. Determine procedures and principles regarding the content, format, approval, use of reports, and integration into spatial planning processes for all studies within the scope of geological-geotechnical survey reports prepared as a basis for all types, qualities, and scales of plans, including plans under the Coastal Law, plan changes, and plan revisions.

3. Monitor the preparation, approval readiness, and implementation of micro-zonation and foundational geological-geotechnical survey reports. Ensure coordination among individuals and institutions, resolve disputes, and enhance collaboration.

4. Develop integrated approaches for the production and use of geological-geophysical-geotechnical data contributing to planning processes. Generate data that will contribute to the development of conservation plans and all types and scales of plan-making processes.

5. Prepare, commission, and prepare for approval geological-geotechnical survey reports as part of ongoing projects or as needed.

6. Review and audit geological-geotechnical survey reports for zoning plans, collect and archive inventory information, create a knowledge base, and initiate projects.

7. Identify the current status and issues related to the use of geological-geophysical-geotechnical data and the integration of plans into planning processes. Develop measures to address deficiencies and ensure effective operations.

8. Develop, implement, and monitor legislation related to the assigned area of responsibility and its implementation process.

9. Develop training programs to enhance the collaborative culture and service quality of professional disciplines involved in preparing and using survey reports. Prepare scientific publications and documents.

10. Conduct research, develop projects, and monitor international practices and standards related to their duties.

11. When necessary, conduct all types of surveys for areas where buildings will be constructed in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 7269 on Measures to be Taken Regarding Aid to be Provided Due to General Disasters Affecting Public Life, and prepare them for approval.

12. Perform similar tasks assigned by the Directorate Head.
