Spatial Strategies and Environmental Planning Department

1. Determine the principles and procedures for preparing spatial strategy plans that guide settlement, construction, and land use at all scales and types, establish secondary legislation, prepare these plans in collaboration with relevant institutions, prepare them for approval, and ensure that implementation follows these strategies.

2. Define the principles and procedures for preparing and preparing for approval spatial strategy plans and environmental planning, ensure the improvement and development of the process, and outline language, management, and implementation models for plan execution.

3. Develop goals and strategies for spatial and urban development, prepare action plans for them, implement and monitor them. Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the Urban Development Strategy and Action Plan, develop projects for implementing actions, and provide support for developed initiatives.

4. Ensure coordination and opinion formation among ministries, local authorities, professional organizations, and relevant parties regarding work and procedures related to the department's scope.

5. Conduct necessary legislative work and monitoring concerning the department's scope.

6. Monitor international developments related to the department's scope, participate in international initiatives, propose and implement necessary projects.

7. Execute tasks related to environmental planning, including making, commissioning, preparing for approval, and monitoring the implementation and supervision of environmental plans at basin and regional levels and all scales.

8. Take necessary measures to ensure the coherence of all scales of physical plans and their compliance with spatial strategy plan objectives and decisions. Prepare, commission, and prepare for approval environmental plans not completed within the specified time by relevant authorities.

9. Review and accept or reject revisions and change proposals for environmental plans submitted by public institutions and entities, based on evaluations conducted.

10. Define the principles and procedures for determining the boundaries of municipal contiguous areas and village settled areas, and prepare these boundaries for approval (with General Directorate Approval dated 18.10.2012, No. 16348).

11. Define the principles and procedures for rural area planning, issue village design guides, and establish guidelines for planning and construction conditions (with General Directorate Approval dated 18.10.2012, No. 16348).

12. Conduct, commission, and prepare for approval integrated coastal zone management and planning studies. Determine the principles and procedures for integrated coastal zone management and planning.

13. Formulate national policies and strategies for coastal areas, prepare action plans for them, implement and monitor them.

14. Perform similar tasks assigned by the General Director.
