Duties of the Black Sea Region Coastal Areas Branch Directorate:

The Black Sea Region Coastal Areas Branch Directorate operates in the provinces of Düzce, Zonguldak, Bartın, Kastamonu, Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, Artvin, and other inland provinces covered by the Coastal Law No. 3621.

1. Carry out planning processes related to coastal areas covered by Law No. 3621, the Coastal Law.

2. Identify current issues related to coastal areas in the Black Sea Region and inland provinces, develop planning and implementation tools for the protection of coastal areas and their use in accordance with Coastal Legislation and sectoral needs, conduct research, perform on-site inspections, and establish monitoring and control mechanisms under Presidential Decree No. 1 regarding the Organization of the Presidency.

3. Conduct procedures related to legislative changes deemed necessary within the framework of Law No. 3621 and related regulations based on inspections conducted in the mentioned regions.

4. Make necessary legislative adjustments considering the presence of various sectors at regional and local levels in the Black Sea Region and inland coastal areas, following the identification of current issues.

5. Perform similar duties as assigned by the Directorate General.
