Legislation Department Presidency
Responsibilities:
- Conducting legislative studies and research on spatial planning, implementation of plans, and developing standards for planning at the national, regional, provincial, and city levels, either through direct execution or commissioning.
- Conducting research and development activities to ensure harmony between spatial planning legislation in areas designated by special laws and other zoning legislation, including Law No. 3194, and to enhance legislation.
- Ensuring coordination among Ministries, local governments, and professional organizations regarding issues arising from legislation in spatial planning, and conducting legislative studies to improve and enhance the spatial planning process.
- Undertaking efforts to implement the procedures and principles envisaged in spatial planning legislation.
- Conducting legislative studies to ensure healthy, safe, and orderly urbanization within the framework of relevant legislation, and taking necessary measures.
- Establishing basic principles, strategies, and standards for spatial plans and ensuring their implementation.
- Providing general explanatory opinions and clarifying legislation regarding questions and issues related to spatial planning legislation and practices.
- Guiding Municipalities, Governorates, and other relevant administrations on the implementation of procedures in accordance with current legislation concerning spatial planning legislation and practices.
- Contributing to in-service training programs on planning legislation topics for public institutions, the Ministry's Central and Regional Organizations, and municipalities.
- Coordinating and conducting relevant tasks and processes related to answering "Parliamentary Questionnaires" sent to our General Directorate by the Strategy Development Presidency, for response by the Minister.
- Managing the website of our General Directorate.
- Performing similar tasks assigned by the General Director.
