Within the borders of Istanbul Province, our Ministry,   the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication, Public Housing Administration and Emlak Konut GYO Corporation signed a Cooperation Protocol on 08.08.2012. 

 

With the decisions of the Ministerial Cabinet numbered 2012/3573 and 2014/6028, the Ministry was authorized in the European Side of Istanbul Province and this area was determined a Reserved Building Area  by the Ministry within the scope of the Law 6306.

 

From the Reserve Building Area of almost 36.800 ha;

- an area of 7.600 ha is covered by the airport and

- an area of 29.200 ha is covered by Yenişehir Area.

 

With the joint project group created by domestic and foreign contracts with the participation of TPKİ and Emlak Konut GYO in coordination with the Ministry; master plan works including the connection roads to the 3rd airport and the 3rd bridge crossing the Bosphorus to the north and which predict establishment of a new city to be integrated with these large public investments in question are being carried on and it is planned to design compact settlement areas with the project. Green bands surrounding these settlements were predicted with the design in question and these green brands also determine the borders to the settlement areas. Thus, it will be possible to ensure that the new city to be established as a nature-friendly and livable city while limiting the development of the settlements.
